Both Nancy and I have been fishing on and off our whole lives. I learned to fish with my dad at our family's lake, Lake Tithelo in Mississippi. I started off fishing for bream with fly rods and later moved on to Largemouth Bass, which is the fish where I currently focus most of my efforts. Nancy learned to fish with her grandparents who where avid fishers of catfish. They had a pond at the bottom of the hill in a pasture behind their house they stocked and would routinely walk down with their buckets and cane poles.

These days we are far from those places where we learned to fish, but we have found places here in Texas we enjoy. Our regular fishing places include Lake Lavon, Lake Ray Roberts, and Bonham City Lake. The primary species we target is largemouth bass, but we also spend some time fishing for crappie as well.

We use a variety of tackle, both baitcasting and spinning. In January 2006, we bought our first boat (my second boat actually). It is a 2003 Skeeter TZX-190 with a Yamaha VMAX 150HP outboard. It's 18.5 feet long and nearly 8 feet wide. In the big reserviors here in Texas and the winds we get in the Spring and Fall, a boat this size and larger is a must.
