Jake Update 3:

Jake had his 6 weeks x-rays this past Wednesday. The bone is nearly healed and the knee looks very good. The Vet has given us the ok to start bringing him back up to normal activity over the next month. We have started to let Jake roam most of the house while we are home. He continues to stay in his x-pen at night and when we are not home. The Vet recommended we continue this for two more weeks and then can stop using it. We are also letting Jake go "leash free" in the backyard when we let him out....we still have to observe him for the next month so that he does not get too wound up. This is great news and we are happy to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Jake has definitely developed a case of "cabin fever". It is nice to let him be normal again.

Jake Update 2:

Jake started his Physical Therapy this week. His progress has been very good. He has full range of motion in his knee, and his strength is slowly coming back. He had his second session today, and Nancy and I decided to stay and watch. We took pictures for everyone to see Jake in action. It's really cool, especially the underwater treadmill.

Jake Update:

As many already know, our dog, Jake, tore the ACL in his left hind leg. We found out the news when we took him to our vet Thursday of last week. On Monday, we took him to the vet surgeon refered to us by our vet. They performed the TPLO procedure Monday morning and called us at 12:30pm that day to say all was done, and Jake was doing very well. Today, we brought Jake home. He will have the E collar on him until the staples can be taken out in 10-14 days. He will be confined to his new crate for a few months as the knee heals and we start physical therapy to bring him back up to speed. The vet said to expect 3 months before he is back to normal. We have only one thing left to look out for. 50% of dogs that tear one ACL will tear the other at some point. We are going to do our best to try to keep Jake from having to go through this again.

New Look:

We decided it was time to give the web page a new look. The old black background and tables were just starting to have that tired looked compared to most web pages out there today. We looked around and found some free website templates and decided to give this one a try. We made some modifications to the template to better fit our needs.

We hope you find this design a little more appealing to the eyes than the old site. This template style is much easier to maintain. We downloaded the design from Open Source Web Design, a free website template design site.

Campbell/Christensen Visit:

The Campbell and Christensen clans recently visted us here in Plano (DFW). I believe everyone had a great time. It was great to see everybody and get a little time to just hang out. We also enjoyed seeing how much Claire and Jesse have grown since the last time we saw them. The Bavarian Grill, as usual, was a huge hit. In the Photo Gallery, there are pictures from the trip to the Dallas Children's Museaum at Fair Park.

Fishing News:

It has been a tough spring. With erratic temps, high winds, "Wrath of God" storms late in the week, and open flood gates at the spillways, the weekend fishing has been frustrating. Our number of catches of both Largemouth Bass and Crappie are way down vs. this time last year. The good news out of all of this is the lake levels are great for this time of year. Nearly all lakes are at or above their full pool levels. This will make for much better fishing in the summer at our favorite lakes (Lavon, Ray Roberts, and Bonham).
